Abstract

This research determines and clarifies the cognitive structures in grammar according to the theories of cognitive grammar. Grammar is an approach of language knowledge that is reflected in the course of using it. Arranging the cognitive structures in the language networks is done through schematisation which is a distinctive characteristic of cognitive grammar. In this light, the processes of cognitive grammaticalization in the context of mental codification and schematisation of the units set the plan for the process of the cognitive grammaticalization in Kurdish language. Thus, the research aims at analysing both the mental codification and schematisation as a basis for the process of cognitive grammaticalization in cognitive linguistics and the grammar of Kurdish language. Therefore, this paper aims at representing the cognitive embodiment in grammar.
