Archiving Policy

This journal ensures the long-term preservation and accessibility of its content through multiple strategic digital archiving initiatives.

1. Primary Preservation: PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

Our journal is a participant in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a free preservation service specifically designed for Open Journal Systems (OJS) journals.

  • Status: Our published content from 2017 up to the current year (2025) is being successfully preserved and is regularly updated.

  • Verification: Our preservation status is independently verified and recorded in the Keepers Registry (an international registry of preservation and archiving programs). You can view the official archival status here: Archival Status: ISSN 2520-7377

  • Archiving Method: The PKP PN operates as a "dark archive." The preserved copies are securely stored in a distributed network but are not made publicly accessible until a "trigger event" occurs (e.g., the journal permanently ceases publication), ensuring the content is protected but ready for restoration.

2. Preservation Technology: LOCKSS & CLOCKSS

The PKP PN utilizes the highly secure and decentralized LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems.

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): This system creates a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, which permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

  • CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): An extension of the LOCKSS system that provides an additional layer of managed digital preservation for the archive.
