Abstract

This study aims to analyze the causal relationship between government revenue, with government spending, and economic growth in Iraq from the years 1970 to 2016. The Toda and Yamamoto method was applied to achieve this purpose. The findings indicate a unidirectional Granger causality running from the government revenue to government spending and GDP growth, while there is no causal relationship between government spending and GDP growth in both directions.
